That's fantastic! Thank you, Fred Burgess!!!

Possible DISCORD??

I’m Jessica Fish, lived in Essene from 1976-1977 (UCLA, BA in Motion Picture/TV). I loved living at the Co-Op, I even did a documentary on Co-Op living for a class. I don’t see where I can post the documentary on this website. Has anyone thought of created a DISCORD community for the UCLA Co-Op?

Hello Jessica Fish! I graduated 🎓 UCLA in June 1976. So I probably just missed you. But we possibly knew people in common!

An interesting read on social changes in the 1970's

My wife and I belong to a number of book clubs, one of which, https://platomadison.org/page-20154#W8, will be discussing Gail Collins' book "When Everything Changed" [https://www.librarything.com/work/8475102/t/When-Everything-Changed-The-Amazing-Journey-of-American-Women-from-1960-to-the-Present]

I have always liked Gail Collins' writing and found this book with its recounting of the societal upheavals of the 60's and 70's to be fascinating, especially because we lived it. It is good to be reminded of the changes in women's lives over our lifetimes and, unfortunately, how far we still have to go

That sounds like a truly engaging read! Gail Collins has such a wonderful way of blending history, personal stories, and cultural insight. When Everything Changed captures a pivotal era — the 60s and 70s really were decades of transformation, especially for women’s rights and social roles. It’s fascinating (and sometimes sobering) to reflect on how much progress has been made and how some challenges still persist today.

Your book club’s choice couldn’t be more relevant, especially for understanding how those social shifts continue to shape our world. Discussions like these help keep those lessons alive and inspire continued change.

Also, for anyone balancing book discussions with studies or writing tasks, you might find assignment help resources useful — they can save time and let you dive deeper into thought-provoking reads like this one without feeling overwhelmed.

That sounds like such a fantastic event! A 1970’s Co-op Reunion with trivia, games, and an open mic session is the perfect way to bring back all those nostalgic memories. I can already imagine how much fun it’ll be to test everyone’s knowledge with the trivia game — those were truly golden years!
